The career of Tony Jones in Offshore Oil and Gas Marine Services since 1972 extends from ships master of offshore support vessels in the North Sea, South America, Caribbean and Central America, West and North Africa, and Asia. His employers during this period included Ocean Inchcape, (OIL), of London, Zapata Marine Service and Zapata Gulf Marine Corporation of Houston, and Seacor Marine Service of Houston.
His management career since 1976 includes international assignments in Egypt, London, Abidjan IC, Angola, Congo & Gabon, Nigeria, Tunisia, Colombia, Brazil and Sudan.
His executive career since 1982 includes positions as Director, General Manager or Vice President for both Zapata and Seacor, in UK, Singapore, New Orleans and Houston.
Since 2005 he has been self employed in his private business, Promartek, LLC, consulting primarily in various roles for marine service, environmental response, and marine architectural firms. Projects included construction and design of specialized service vessels, rig mooring plans, and tanker terminal mooring systems. A 1964 graduate of the London Nautical School, Tony Jones’s marine career commenced as apprentice deck officer with British India Steam Navigation Company of London. Serving as Chief Officer, qualified as Master Mariner, he resigned to enter the offshore marine service industry as Master in 1972. He currently holds a Master Mariner Class 1 Certificate from UK and B Sc. in Naval Science.
